Young Warriors captain Lukas Sakeus says the approach is to remain focused as Namibia face Seychelles in their final group-stage match of the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON | COSAFA Qualifiers at Zipeto Stadium in Mozambique today.
Namibia started their COSAFA campaign on a high note, defeating Mauritius 1-0 in their opening match, with Sakeus scoring the decisive goal.
The Young Warriors continued their impressive run in their second match, defeating hosts Mozambique 1-0, with Rashid Naobeb finding the back of the net to secure another crucial three points.
With the final group-stage match against Seychelles now upon them, Namibia will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run and secure progression to the next stage of the tournament.
Sakeus highlighted the importance of approaching the match with the same focus and discipline shown in their opening two encounters.
“Our approach is to remain focused and make sure we get the result we need. We have done well in the first two games, but there is still one important game left,” Sakeus said.
The captain also emphasised the importance of maintaining their defensive record, with the Young Warriors yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
“Keeping a clean sheet is also important for us. We want to remain solid at the back and give ourselves the best chance of winning the game,” he added.
