The Young Warriors secured their place in the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON | COSAFA Qualifiers following a convincing victory in their final group-stage match.
Rashid Naobeb opened the scoring for Namibia, setting the tone for another strong performance from the Young Warriors. Junior Ashitenda then doubled the advantage before Lukas Sakeus completed the scoring to seal a comfortable victory.
Warriors central defender Shahid Naobeb was named Man of the Match following an influential performance that helped Namibia secure all three points.
The result sees Namibia progress to the semi-finals and maintain their unbeaten record throughout the group stage, continuing an impressive campaign in Mozambique.
The achievement also marks Namibia’s return to the semi-finals of the COSAFA U20 Qualifiers for the first time since 2020. In that edition, the Young Warriors defeated Angola 1-0 in the semi-final before narrowly losing 1-0 to Mozambique in the final.
With a place in the last four secured, Namibia now turns its attention to the semi-finals as the Young Warriors continue their pursuit of a place at the U20 AFCON.
