Hon. Emma Kantema Gaomas, Deputy Minister of Sports, Youth, and National Service, shared words of encouragement and gratitude with the Tafel Lager Brave Warriors this morning in Bouake, following the team’s exit from the AFCON 2023 tournament.

Expressing her appreciation for the team’s exceptional performance from the group stage to the round of 16, Hon. Gaomas acknowledged the historic moments created by the team and emphasized the significance of their role as ambassadors for Namibia.

She commended the players for carrying the hopes and aspirations of the entire nation throughout the tournament.

In her address, Hon. Gaomas stated, “You [Brave Warriors] have not only showcased your skill and determination but have also written a chapter in the history of Namibian football. We are proud of the dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.”

She conveyed her gratitude to members of the team, acknowledging the challenges they faced and the effort they put into representing Namibia at the continental stage.

“You have not only represented our nation in football but have carried the spirit and pride of Namibia with you. You have been great ambassadors in this country and have helped the team get where it is. A lot has been achieved collectively, but more work awaits us,” she remarked.

Concluding, Hon. Gaomas said “ Move with pride and dignity for you will be remembered as a testament to the resilience and unity of Namibian football. The journey does not end here, we have to build onto this so the Namibian country can continue to grow and thrive as a footballing nation.”
