Brave Warriors former defender, Arnold Doeseb attended the COSAFA Technical Study Group (TSG) workshop which was held in Johannesburg last week. The course who was attended by 24 participants from across the Southern African region was aimed at broadening the knowledge of what it means to be part of a TSG and to upskill member associations  so that they can do their own technical analysis

COSAFA TSG leader, Leah Masango said that the aim of the workshop was to create more capacity for technical study groups in all COSAFA member associations, also to do a talent identification for us to recognise new members that we can bring on board (for TSG’s at COSAFA tournaments)

β€œThe TSG’s course was well conducted and informative,I learned from participants who are technical directors, coaches and former players in their respective countries. The course will enable the participants to assist the national teams and clubs coachesΒ Β to identify key areas in which they can improve, it also gives us an insight on the opponents, the system they use during matchesΒ Β and the trends they use”. Doeseb said

He adds that this type of courses and trainingΒ are needed especially at the national competitions like the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup and the FA Cup competitions.

“This is one of the few untapped areas in Namibia and we need to go back home and train as many people as we can to be Technical study experts to analyse matches, give a technical opinion on how teams and individual players can improve.

He thanked the NFA and COSAFA for allowing me the opportunity to attend the TSG Workshop.
