The Brave Warriors completed their preparations for a crucial Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) PAMOJA 2027 qualifier against Comoros, with Head Coach Collin Benjamin confident that his side is ready for the challenge.
Namibia will face Comoros on Monday, 29 September, having already played the island nation three times in the past year. Benjamin expects another demanding encounter, particularly against a Comoros side he describes as quick and technically capable with the ball.
“They are a fast team with the ball, but we are equally up to the task. We know what to expect and we are ready,” said Benjamin.
The Brave Warriors will, however, have to contend with some injury concerns. Stoffel Witbeen has been ruled out after suffering a fractured ankle, while Charles Hambira is still under assessment following a head collision sustained in the previous match.
Benjamin stressed the importance of collecting points on the road, particularly in a qualifying campaign where every point could prove valuable.
“It is important to steal points away from home in qualifiers,” he said, as Namibia look to build on their opening result and strengthen their position in the group.
