The Namibia Football Association (NFA) officially launched the inaugural CAF B Diploma Coaching Course at Football House in Katutura earlier today, marking a significant milestone in the development of football coaching in Namibia.

The course, the first of its kind to be hosted in the country, will run until October and will be conducted in a series of block sessions. It is designed to equip coaches with the knowledge, practical skills, and modern methodologies required to elevate the standard of coaching and player development across Namibia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, NFA Vice President Murs Markus highlighted the importance of investing in coach education, emphasizing that developing qualified coaches is essential for the long-term growth and success of Namibian football.

“We cannot grow the game without investing in those who develop our players. Courses like these are crucial in building a stronger football foundation for the future,” Markus said.

The ceremony also celebrated football excellence, with former Namibian international Oscar Mengo receiving the Legends Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the growth and development of football in Namibia.

The launch of the CAF B Diploma Coaching Course underscores the NFA’s continued commitment to strengthening technical capacity and creating a pathway for coaches to reach higher coaching qualifications while contributing to the advancement of the beautiful game in Namibia.
