The Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dino Ballotti, paid a courtesy visit to participants of the CAF B Diploma Coaching Course currently underway at Football House in Katutura.
The visit underscored government’s recognition of the critical role coach education plays in advancing football development in Namibia.
Addressing the participants, Hon. Ballotti applauded the Namibia Football Association (NFA) for hosting the country’s first-ever CAF B Diploma Coaching Course and encouraged the coaches to embrace the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and expertise.
He emphasized that investing in coaches is fundamental to building a stronger football ecosystem, noting that qualified coaches are instrumental in identifying, developing and nurturing talent at all levels of the game.
“Coach education is one of the cornerstones of football development. By equipping our coaches with internationally recognised qualifications and modern coaching methodologies, we are laying the foundation for sustained growth and success in Namibian football,” said Hon. Ballotti.
The Deputy Minister further encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained throughout the course within their respective clubs, academies and communities, ensuring that the benefits of the programme extend beyond the classroom.
The CAF B Diploma Coaching Course, the first of its kind in Namibia, commenced earlier this week and will run until October in block sessions. The programme forms part of the Namibia Football Association’s ongoing commitment to raising coaching standards and strengthening the technical capacity of football across the country.
Hon. Ballotti’s visit served as a significant show of support for coach development and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between government and the Namibia Football Association in driving the growth of the sport.
