Eeshoke Chula Chula’s goalkeeper coach, Klemens Mukoroli, has expressed his gratitude to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) for providing him with an invaluable learning experience during his week-long attachment to the national team camp. Mukoroli joined the Brave Warriors as they prepared for their crucial first-round CHAN qualifiers against Lesotho.
The NFA recently introduced a practice of offering internship opportunities to promising local coaches, allowing them to spend time with the national team during training camps. This initiative aims to expose up-and-coming coaches to the professional environment of national team preparations. This week, it was Mukoroli’s turn to observe and learn from the national team coaches.
An elated Mukoroli, who holds NFA and FIFA goalkeeper coaching certifications, expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude for the experience. “I have learned so much in just a week, more than I could have imagined,” he said. “I am very grateful to the NFA for this opportunity, and I will take all that I have learned back to Eeshoke Chula Chula to further develop my goalkeepers. My aim is to produce the best goalkeepers Namibia has ever seen.”
Mukoroli’s attachment to the national team came after his club, Eeshoke Chula Chula, recently won the prestigious Dr.Hage Geingob Cup, defeating African Stars in the final. He was particularly delighted to be reunited with his club’s goalkeeper, John Muronga, during the camp. The two have a long history together, having worked as coach and player at Kangweru Black Tops in the lower divisions, as well as at the Kavango East Regional Under-17 and Under-20 teams.
The duo tasted success earlier this year when Kavango East triumphed in the Nedbank Newspaper Cup in Gobabis during Easter, with Mukoroli serving as goalkeeper coach and Muronga as the star between the posts. Reflecting on their journey together, Mukoroli remarked, “I am very happy for Muronga. The hard work we’ve put in together is now paying off. I hope he continues to shine and earns more opportunities with the national team.”
As Mukoroli returns to his club, he is determined to implement the knowledge he gained during his week with the Brave Warriors. He extended his best wishes to Muronga and the rest of the national team as they prepare for their clash against Lesotho. “I wish John and the team the best of luck. I know they are ready for the challenge ahead, and I am confident they will perform well.”
