The Brave Gladiators have two crucial qualifiers – Paris 2024 Olympics and the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024 to deal with before the end of the year.
For the Olympic Games, only two spots are reserved for the African continent in the women’s division, and the Namibians are seeking their maiden appearance. The Gladiators will have to go past Morocco when they play them in Morocco on the 26 & 31 October 2023 respectively. The winner in that round will play the winner between Ivory Coast and Tunisia during the third round of the qualifiers.
Namibia will play Ghana in the second round of the WAFCON Qualifiers scheduled for 27 November – 5 December, the winner in this round will automatically secure a spot at the WAFCON 2024 that is set to take place in Morocco mid next year.
PARIS 2024 OLYMPICS QUALIFIERS:
First round: 10–18 July 2023
Second round: 23–31 October 2023
Third round: 19–28 February 2024
Fourth round: 1–9 April 2024
The Olympic Games will take place from 26 July – 11 August 2024 in Paris, France.
