Four players out of Warriors with injuries

Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti will have to cut only three players from his initial 27 players for the friendly match at Swaziland on Thursday following the withdrawal of Vernon Klaasen, Kennedy Eib, Absalom Iimbondi and Panduleni Nekundi with injuries.

Mannetti on Monday called up 27 players and will have to reduce the team before the depart on Wednesday to 20 players and with four already out of contention, three players are to face the chop from the travelling party.

The MTC Premiership golden boot leader Panduleni Nekundi of African Stars as well as Mighty Gunners duo of Eib and Klaasen joins Tigers captain Iimbondi on the side-lines.

This is not a FIFA date match and the technical team can’t run the risk of using injured players because the league is currently still ongoing and the Debmarine Cup is in full swing. We had trainings earlier today at the Sam Nujoma Stadium and most players were in form except the four who are suffering from minor injuries. We decided it was best to remove them from the squad.” said Mannetti.

Mannetti also added that the nation should not forget that this is an experimental team and with the COSAFA games that are fast approaching the technical team is still scouting for new players.
