We are a game away from the semifinals- Mannetti

The Brave Warriors will come out with the goal of reaching the semifinal of the 2018 African Nations championship (CHAN) finals at the Lions’ Den, the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca on Saturday afternoon for their clash against host Morocco.

Addressing a well-attended press conference on Friday afternoon, Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti said the Brave Warriors are positive for good result tomorrow.

“ Looking forward to do our best and upset Morocco and get to the semifinals. We not disrespecting them but anything is possible. To play our best game to win and move forward. We came here as underdogs and we remain that. We have showcased our two games thus far and tomorrow we chose the right approach. we need to play well with better organization. We are positive for a good result tomorrow”, Mannetti stated.

He explained that his team has improved through the tournament and can only get better.
“We have improved from our games here and we can only better that. This growth shows hope with and without the ball. Good structure in defense and forward will be. We have the confidence to cause an upset”, Mannetti said after guiding his side to their first ever continental football quarterfinal berth with an unprecendeted two wins and a draw at the first round.

Captain fantastic Ronald Ketjijere said his team is not scared of the host and not knowing who is who will work well for them as they work collectively to take the Land of the Braves over the line.

“We are not worried about individuals and whoever comes we will deal with them. We are a team and we will continue to play as one. We have to negate their play”. There is pressure now since we have come this far and expectations are high but the focus now is on facing Morocco and we want to progress and the only chance is to beat Morocco”, said Ketjijere.

Ricardo Mannetti and the team has been hard at work plotting another achievement as they take on championship favorite and host Morocco on Saturday in the first quarterfinals match and if they win they will make it to the last three days of the championship on the weekend of 2-4 February.
