The Baby Warriors lost 3-0 on Sunday afternoon against Congo Brazzaville in their Confederation of African Football (CAF) 2017 U-17 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers second-round second leg clash to crash out 5-1 on aggregate.
The Namibians came into the match, trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Windhoek and on Sunday, Congo stepped up a gear at the Alphonse Massemba-Debat Stadium in Brazzaville as they led 2-0 at halftime. According to coach Timothy Tjongarero, the Baby Warriors gave away an early goal and later on conceded a penalty that was conceded by the host for the halftime score of 2-0 in their favor.
“Overall, the boys showed some great character and we had chances too that we failed to convert in the first half. Second half was much stronger from us and we created three clear chances with two penalty appeals waved away ,“Tjongarero reveals.

“In term of dealing with various physically imposing teams the boys are getting there and with more high level matches such as this one we have a great team for the future of our football”, Tjongarero states.
The team is expected back home on Tuesday, 23 August.
