Injured Da costa withdraw from Warriors camp
The Brave Warriors will be without key defender Da Costa Angula for their Tuesday night Cosafa Castle Cup Plate semifinal match against Mozambique at the Sam Nujoma Stadium due to recurring Achilles tendons injury that resurfaced after Saturday defeat to Botswana in the Competition proper’s quarterfinal.
Team coach Ricardo Mannetti reveals that the Free State Stars central defender, Angula will surely now miss the rest of the tournament due to the injury that kept him out for almost a year before he returned to action late last year.
“It’s bad news to lose a defender of his calibre at this stage but we have to move on as well. This is a real test of our character as a team and we need to soldier on. We want to finish on a high and Da Costa could have helped us achieve that but we now have to do without him and wish him speedy recovery as he was really key to his club performance last season and added value to our team”, Mannetti states.
Cosafa Castle Cup defending Champions, Brave Warriors narrowly lost 5-4 on penalties after a one-all draw against Botswana on Saturday night at a packed to the rafters majestic Sam Nujoma Stadium and will now fight for the Plate prize.
The Namibia Football Association (NFA) have announced that entrance to the stadium will be free for the Plate Semifinal starting off at 17h00 between Zambia and Lesotho to be followed by the Warriors vs. Mozambique at 19h30 at the Sam Nujoma.
The NFA has however advised that football fans should got to football house to get the ticket as they will be required to display them as prove for entrance.
