NFA appeals CAF Decision

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has expressed their shock and dismay at the CAF decision to dismiss the dispute regarding the eligibility of Burkina Faso player Hervé Zengue.

According to the NFA president John Muinjo, the Football Association have appealed the decision taken by CAF to dismiss the protest over Cameroonian-born Hervé Zengue, who featured for Burkina Faso’s home and away ties against Namibia in the 2012 African nations Cup qualifiers, which the latter both lost.

Namibia draw Liberia for 2013 AFCON


Following their failure to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations the Brave Warriors will try and negotiate their way past Liberia in the preliminary round as the race for the 2013 AFCON stats late next year.

According to the CAF draw that was conducted over the weekend , Namibia will face Liberia in the second preliminary round which is due to kick off during the first half of 2012 with the dates yet to be confirmed while the final round will be played in September and October.

Kaanjuka ready for Lesotho

With the Brave Warriors hosting Lesotho on Monday night , coach Bernard Kaanjuka relish the opportunity to build a strong foundation for his tenure as he looks ahead to the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking to ahead of the encounter against Lesotho on Monday night at the independence Stadium in Windhoek, the acting coach expressed his desire to do well in his first official match in charge at the helm of the senior national team.

FIFA Health Initiative Pass

Following the successful implementation of the FIFA 11 for Health initiative, stakeholders are ready to take it to all corners of Namibia.

This is based on the response that the Namibia football Association got on the pilot project which focused on 11 schools in Windhoek.

According to the NFA’s master coach for the project Timothy Tjongarero, the project started off well in Windhoek and the response from those invited has been commendable.

Top 18 coaches invited for CAF B License Course


The Namibia Football Association has invited extinguished local coaches to attend the CAF B License course starting Friday at Soccer House.

According to the NFA Education Officer Timothy Tjongarero, the invited participants will be expected to do an oral exam and a practical one on Saturday and Tuesday respectively and based on their evaluation, can be granted with CAF B licenses.

CAF/NFA Coaching Course underway

The Confederation of African Football Association (CAF)/Namibia Football Association (NFA) C Licence Coaching Course is underway at NFA Soccer House with 28 participants in attendance.

The course will run for three weeks and see some participants that took part in the NFA C Licence course earlier this year and other eligible individuals.

The course, conducted by Klaus Staerk and Willem Kapukare, have introduced participants to the NFA and CAF Licensing systems and major trends in professional football and consequence for youth training.

Namibia play Botswana on Saturday


The Namibia Football Association will be hosting a Bi-Nations under-16 girl’s championship on Saturday as Botswana visits Namibia at the NFA Technical Centre.

According to national team coach Jacqui Shipanga, the championship will be used by the national team selectors to select Namibia’ s under -17 team that will compete in 2012 FIFA women undr-17 world cup qualifiers next year.

Eenhana Galz & Goals festival attracts over 400


The NFA Galz & Goals initiative in partnership with UNICEF and SCORE Namibia witnessed overwhelming success over the weekend as they introduced their innovative girl’s football program to the Ohangwena region, Eenhana.

Warriors Squad for Lesotho Friendly on October 31

The national senior soccer side, the Brave Warriors will host Lesotho in an international friendly match on Monday, 31 October at the Independence Stadium.

The match to be the first of recently appointed acting coach Bernard Kaanjuka tenure will be played at 20h00 at the Windhoek’s Independence Stadium, the NFA has confirmed.

Kaanjuka last week confirmed that only local-based players will be used in the Lesotho match owing to the fact that the date is not FIFA International date and thus foreign clubs will not be willing to release players.
