9 December 2025 – The Namibia Football Association is set to host the FIFA Elite Goalkeeping Coaching Course. The four day course is expected to bring together some of Namibia’s most promising goalkeeper coaches for a week of intensive training led by internationally acclaimed instructors.

The course, regarded as one of the highest-level goalkeeper development programs in the region, aims to elevate the technical and tactical standards of the position while exposing participants to the modern demands of the global game.

At the helm of the program are two highly respected goalkeeper Instructors: Cameroon Cox from South Africa and Alejandro Heredia from Argentina. Both instructors come with extensive international experience and a track record of developing competitive goalkeepers across professional and youth systems.

Cox, the current Banyana Banyana Goalkeeper coach holds a CAF A licence and is a certified FIFA & CAF Trainee instriuctor for goalkeepers. He is known for his dynamic and progressive coaching techniques, bringing a Southern African perspective shaped by years of work with elite academies and clubs across the region. His sessions are expected to focus heavily on agility, footwork, ball-handling, and the modern goalkeeper’s evolving role in build-up play.

Bafana Bafana GK coach,Heredia, on the other hand, offers a contrasting yet complementary approach with his deep tactical background rooted in the South American football tradition. He is widely recognized for his emphasis on positioning, game intelligence, and decision-making—key elements for goalkeepers aspiring to compete on the international stage. He is FIFA and CAF Instructor.

The course will feature a blend of on-field practical sessions and classroom-based theoretical modules. Participants will engage in advanced technical drills, video analysis, leadership development, injury prevention sessions, and tactical training designed to strengthen their overall understanding of the game.

A selected group of goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches from across the country has already been confirmed for participation. These individuals represent various academies, regional development centers, and youth national team structures.
