In a strategic move to test the team’s skill and expertise, the Namibia Senior National Team engaged in a training match against a local Ghanaian team this morning.

Coach Collin Benjamin, shed light on the primary objective, saying “We aimed to witness how our Namibian local players would fare against the physical prowess of West African opponents.”

The final score took a back seat in this encounter as the coach emphasised that the result was never the focus.

“We wanted to evaluate the local talents’ awareness and capability against physically dominant West African players. The match served as a platform to assess the adaptability and resilience of our players when confronted with the strong style of play often seen in teams from this region.” he highlighted.

Looking ahead, the Tafel Lager Brave Warriors gear up for an impending international friendly against Ghana on the 8th January 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 20h00.

This clash will serve as a crucial platform for the team to refine their approach and readiness for the prestigious tournament, TotalEnergies AFCON, commencing on the 13th January 2024, in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, San Pedro and Korhogo in Cote D’Ivoire.
