The Namibia Under-15 Boys’ team continues to build towards the upcoming FIFA U15 Festival, with preparations progressing as the young players gain valuable experience and develop their understanding of the game.

As part of their preparations, the team played a friendly match against Botswana Boys U15 on 2 October, with the encounter ending in a goalless draw. The match provided an important opportunity for the technical team to assess the players, test combinations and evaluate the team’s progress.

Head coach Nicholas Jacobs said the team is gradually coming together, highlighting the progress made since the initial trials held in August.

“The players are beginning to understand each other better, and the team is coming together. We started with trials in August, followed by training, and we are now working on building cohesion and improving our understanding of the game,” said Jacobs.

The coach also acknowledged the commitment shown by the young players, who turned out for the friendly despite it being a school holiday, demonstrating their willingness to learn and improve.

With preparations continuing, the technical team remains focused on developing the players’ technical abilities, tactical awareness and teamwork as Namibia works towards putting together a competitive squad for the FIFA U15 Festival.

The programme forms part of the Namibia Football Association’s ongoing efforts to develop young talent and provide emerging footballers with opportunities to gain international exposure and experience at an early stage of their careers.
