The Namibian FUTSAL Men’s National Team is in camp to prepare for the crucial qualifiers of the Total Energies Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2024. Namibia will face Tanzania in two-legged play off matches – the first taking place in Windhoek at the Windhoek Show Grounds Sports Plaza on Saturday, 3rd February @ 19H00. The return leg is scheduled for Friday, 9 February in Tanzania.
Addressing the media during a press briefing at the Football House earlier today, Interim Head Coach, Donawald Modise
“The provisional squad was selected late in December, and we kicked off training during the first week of the year. The technical team is impressed with the overall performance the boys have been putting in during the short space of time”.
“This are exciting times in Namibian Sports, FUTSAL is new and exciting, and we are urging the Namibian nation to rally behind the team he said
Holders of the title, Morocco are automatically qualified they will be joined by Egypt and Angola, who are also exempt from the qualifiers.
CAF has set the dates of February 2 and 11, 2024 for the first leg. The return leg will be played between February 9 and 11.
The winners of these two matches will qualify for the final phase of the AFCON-2024 futsal tournament, to be played in April 2024.
