In a pre-match press conference at the Laurent Pokou stadium, Coach Collin Benjamin made it clear that the fate of Namibia’s TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 journey lies solely in the team’s hands.

Set to face a formidable opponent in Mali tomorrow, 24th January 2023, at Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro, at 17h00 Central African Time [CAT], Coach Benjamin expressed confidence, stating, “We will not rely on other teams’ performance for qualification; we have the chance to write history for our country, and we look forward to the game.”

Acknowledging the setback in the previous match, Benjamin brushed off the score as water under the bridge, firmly placing focus on the upcoming clash and the team’s ability to seize the moment.

Captain Peter Shalulile, echoed Coach Benjamin’s sentiments.

“Why should we wait for others to do us favors when we can do the job ourselves? We will show up tomorrow and give the game all we have got, and leave the rest to God.” He stated.

As the Tafel Lager Brave Warriors anticipate their last group showdown against Mali, the team is prepared to leave no stone unturned in the match that holds the key to make history for the motherland, Namibia, through progression in the AFCON tournament.
