Young Warriors head coach, Sikerete and captain Vevangapi Mbuende have expressed confidence in the team ahead of Wednesday’s Olympic qualifier against Angola.
Speaking to local media houses ahead of the encounter, Sikerete acknowledged the challenges experienced with the team’s movement in and around Luanda for training and other scheduled activities.
He, however, confirmed that the squad remains focused on the mission ahead.
The coach added that the technical team has gathered limited information on their Angolan counterparts therefore the Young Warriors will focus on their own preparations, remain disciplined and execute the agreed game plan.
Captain Mbuende said the players are prepared and motivated for the encounter. He noted that they are familiar with a few members of the Angolan squad, having previously met them at junior international level.
The captain further expressed confidence in the squad’s unity and determination to fight for a positive result for Namibia.
The Young Warriors will face Angola on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at the 11 November Stadium in Luanda.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17h00 local time.
