A dramatic semifinal of the MTC Maris Cup at the Mariental Stadium saw Young African defeat UNAM FC 3-1 and African Stars narrowly beat Bucks Buccaneers 2-1 to book a spot in the final round of the competition.
Young African found themselves in the final after picking up a clinical 3-1 victory over UNAM FC. The Gobabis based team made their intentions in the match clear from kick off-when Himeezembi Kahee scored in the 15th minute.
Youngile was not done as they doubled their lead through Aichel Calane at the start of the second half while Denzel Narib sealed the deal with the third goal in the 58th minute.
The clever boys converted their first goal in the 68th minute through a good finish by Rugam Roberto but time was not on their side.

The second match of the day saw Bucs Buccaneers take on African Stars FC at 17H00.
Defender Charles Hambira gave Bucks the much needed confidence when he netted in an own goal in the 25th minute but Edmund Kambanda grabbed the equaliser five minutes later with a well rounded goal that came from the corner kick.
The deadlock was however broken in the 38th minute, when Starโs Ibrahim Yousseuf rifled found the back of the net to give African Stars the win.
The final will take place on the 29 March 2025.
