Three debutants for Warriors against Lesotho


There will be three new faces for the Brave Warriors as they take on Lesotho tonight at the Sam Nujoma stadium in their international friendly match with Romeo Kasume, Hubert Mingeri and Aprocius Petrus making the team.

The trio are part of the national under 20 that will play Botswana in the 2019 AFCON u/20 qualifiers next month and they will start tonight for exposure against the Crocodiles of Lesotho.

Tura Magic midfielder Romeo Kasume will start on the right side of the engine room while Petrus of Eleven Arrows takes his place at left- back and Hubert Mingeri from Life Fighters will feature at right back.

Otherwise, Max Mbaeva will make his return to the fold in goal behind the central defence pairing of Denzil Haoseb and Vitapi Ngaruka.

Captain Ronald Ketjijere will continue his partnership with Dynamo Fredericks in midfield while Deon Hotto also makes a return at the left of midfield.

Absalom Iimbondi will play behind the lone striker Benson Shilongo, the latter too making a comeback into the fold, following the team’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals successful adventure early this year.

Match tickets are selling for N$ 40 each on Computicket outlets countrywide for the 20h00 kickoff match.

Kasume and co will use tonight’s experience to help the Young Warriors who are competing for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Niger 2019 AFCON U/20 and will face neighbors Botswana at the first round with the first leg in Gaborone between 31 March, 16h00 with the second leg in Windhoek slated for 20-22 April.
