Fireworks are expected at the Legare Stadium in Gobabis on 18 November, 16h00, as the prestigious competition 2017 Debmarine Namibia Cup comes to a conclusion and the home Young African owner and coach Marley Ngarizemo expects victory for his side.

Ngarizemo says despite the fact that Mighty Gunners has kept most of their players for years and campaigned in the elite league for years, his side inexperienced side have what it takes to cause an upset and win their first major silverware.

“We are ready to give Mighty Gunners a run for their money. Mighty Gunners is no easy team to beat and they have been campaigning for the NPL win for years now.

The boys are ready and the league games have boosted our performance and fitness levels. Our philosophy and approach will remain the same and nothing will change. It will be a home game but I don’t think that will be an advantage because the boys will be expected to outdo themselves and the pressure might not be so good to them”.

Ngarizemo is pleading with all football lovers around the four corners of Omaheke to come in great numbers and support local football.

Team Captain, Donovan Kanjaa, a Grade 12 learner at Jacob Marengo High in Windhoek is proud of the teams work and he hopes the progress continues.

“The semi-finals was not easy at all because we were the under dogs, Rundu Chiefs has been playing in the PL for some time now; meaning they had more matured players but that didn’t stop us from investing all our energy and coming out victories. Playing the FA final is an achievement and we thank the supporters who give us the drive to do better and the Technical team for all their hard work”, says Kanjaa, who made his debut for the club in the 2014 Bidvest Namibia Cup.

Young African has made impressive progress this year and has managed to produce a few star players with Himeezembi Hengombe good enough to be part of the recent Brave Warriors training camp since July this year following his two man of the match accolades in the 2017 Debmarine Namibia Cup.
