Kunamuene in DR Congo on CAF Assignment

Namibia Football Association (NFA) Competitions Department Manager Titus Kunamuene is in DR Congo on a Confederation of African Football (CAF)’s assignment as TP Mazembe and Fath Union Sport goes head to head in the CAF Confederations Cup semifinals.

Kunamuene left on Thursday for Lubumbashi, as the home side PT Mazembe prepares to welcome Moroccan side Fath Union Sport (F.U.S) on Sunday, 15h30, at the Lubumbashi-Stade for the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup semifinals first leg match.

CAF has appointed Kunamuene to be the General Coordinator of the venue. Bakary Papa GASSAMA is the match Referee, assisted Burundian Jean Claude BIRUMUSHAHU and Kenyan Marwa Aden RANGE with Davies Ogenche OMWENO also from Kenya, the fourth official. Congolese Jean Médard Kossa is the Match Commissioner while Jason Joseph Damoo from the Seychelles is the Referees Assessor.

TP Mazembe reached this stage after they knocked out Sundanese side Al-Hilal Al-ubayyid, 7-1 on aggregate while their opponents Fath Union Sport got the better of Tunisian side CS Sfaxien 5-4 on penalties after a one-all aggregate score.
In the other seminal, South African side Supersport United will on Saturday host Tunisian side Club African in the first leg.

The winners of the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup will earn the right to play against the winners of the Champions League in the 2018 CAF Super Cup. TP Mazembe are the defending champions, of the Confederations Cup.
