The Brave Warriors will give and hope their best is enough against Zimbabwe as the best from the domestic leagues goes head-to-head on Sunday at the Sam Nujoma stadium in the race for the 2018 Africa Nations Championships in Kenya.

Fresh from the 2017 Cosafa Cup where they finished sixth, the Brave Warriors regroup and focus on the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers second round first leg match against Zimbabwe in Windhoek on Sunday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, 15h00.

Zimbabwe are clear favorites having won the Cosafa cup on Sunday with a squad made up mainly of local-based players and will have the addition of CAPS United players who campaigned in the CAF Champions league over the weekend.

“I remain positive as a coach and I will prepare my team to win. We will give our best and I hope our best will be good enough against Zimbabwe. We need to face reality and know they they are very active and have players from Cosafa wining team and the champions league as well and that will be a difficult side to play against” Mannetti asses.

The CHAN is a competition organized by CAF to give local-based players of each country a chance to compete at continental level, as they are always overshadowed by players who play abroad for the Africa Cup of Nations, and this time around the Namibian players will have it all to do having not played premier league football for approximately 15 months.

Ferdinand Karongee, Larry Horaeb, Riaan !Hanamub, Tiberius Lombard, Xamseb, Dynamo Fredericks, Wangu Gome, Benyamin Nenkavu, Ronald Ketjijere, Itamunua Keimuine and Lodyt Kazapua, are some of the 23 players in camp players that were part of the Cosafa cup that are up for consideration for the Sunday’s clash. Virgil Vries, despite being released last week by his former employers Maritzburg United, is not available for these games.

The winner of the Brave Warriors versus Zimbabwe clash will face either Lesotho or Comoros in the road to Kenya 2018. The fifth edition of the CHAN tournament will be held in Kenya between 11 January and 2 February 2018.

Ticket for the match will be available on Computicket from Wednesday for N$ 30 each.
