Oshana region, together with neighbours Omusati arrived in Swakopmund at 11h00 on Thursday ahead of the defence of the title they won last year at Rundu.

According to their coach Alex Iitumba, the team is determined to defend the title and have the experience to do so.

"We have six players from the team that won last year and we have trained hard ahead of this competition so we are here to defend this cup. We are focused on doing well and going all the way but we know we have to take a game at a time. We are now acclimatising well ahead of time and come tomorrow, we will be on fire", Iitumba says.

The team is also boasted by the presence of 2016 Cosafa Under-17 champions Mengameno Kapuku and Junior Nambuli and are looking to make history.

"We have a lot of people expecting a lot from this team and the boys are experienced enough to handle the pressure. We will try to keep them grounded as coaches and we have no doubt in their ability to make us proud" a confident Iitumba says as they take a walk back to their lodging before returning to the complex for a light training session.
