The 2016 season of the NFA Galz & Goals Leagues in Windhoek will come to a fitting conclusion on Friday at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Technical Centre in Katutura with 55 teams from all over Windhoek taking part in the U/13, U/15 and U/17 Leagues season finale.

The final games of the season will be played out at the Technical Centre in the SPAR funded girls’ football leagues with great action and entertainment from 14H00 and the ultimate crowning of the champions thereafter.

“We are very pleased with the participation of schools and football clubs in the League this year and the level of football displayed. The teams come from all corners of Windhoek to play football, learn life skills and grow as players and responsible citizens.

We are hopeful that the League will continue to grow nationally and therefore commend our corporate partner SPAR Namibia that continuously help us take the game to the girls,” says Jackie Gertze, the National Manager of NFA Galz & Goals. She welcomes everyone to support the girls at he league games and witness the prize giving on Friday.

In 2015, Herman Gemeiner Primary School won the Under13 section while Pumpkins took the under15 honors and Swallows were the under17 champions.
Van Rhyn Primary School is leading the under13 league; Pumpkins are ahead in the under15 section and Moses van der Byl are on top in the under17 league.

NFA Galz & Goals Programme is also preparing to introduce U/20 Leagues in 2017 in an attempt to keep the girls longer in the game as well as to welcome many new teams with the support of their partners UNICEF, FIFA, GIZ, SPAR and SCORE.
