8 July 2025 -The National u20 men’s team (Young Warriors) failed to make it past the group stages of the Region Five – COSAFA u20 Championship that is being staged in Windhoek at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium. Namibia suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Young Malawian flames. Lameck Mithi Cliford Chisale
“Lack of concentration in the last minutes of the match caused us the game but I’m overall impressed with the boys. We had a few chances but failed to capitalize on that and Malawi punished us. Moving forward we will keep working with the team and keep the squad together for next year. I’m overall impressed with the attitude and dedication the boys have shown on and off the playing field said Zerimi, u20 Head coach.
Namibia opened their COSAFA campaign against Angola and were defeated 2-0, the Young Warriors took on Zimbabwe in their second encounter and that match ended 1-0 in favor of the host.
