8 July 2025 – Namibia has joined Botswana in the semifinals of the Region Five – COSAFA u20 Women’s Championship following the completion of Group B matches at the Dr Hage Geingob stadium in Windhoek.
Ontheedite Tokwane placed Namibia in the lead at the end of the starting half and Damara Hangula doubled the score, giving Namibia a 2-1 win over Botswana. Namibia will take on Zambia in the semi-finals on 9 July at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium at 12:00.
“The game went well, we were more composed on the ball and the players stuck to the game plan as discussed. The first goal gave us confidence going into the last half and the second was a bonus for us.
We are excited to advance to the next stage of the tournament and the work we have been putting in since the U17 COSAFA Cup is starting to show.
