Namibia’s Women’s Futsal national team was pitted against host Morocco and Cameroon in the group stages of the inaugural CAF Womenโ€™s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations that will be staged in Morocco from April 22-30.

Namibia will open her campaign against Morocco at the Complexe Sportive Moulay-Abdellah at 20H00 on the 22 April and will conclude their group stage games against Cameroon on 26 April at the same venue at 20H00.

The Head Coach, Donald Modise took the NFA media through the selection process and the preparations thus far.

“We hosted trials from the 24 – 27 of February 2025, with a total of 38 players participating. After a thorough assessment, we selected 25 players for an additional week of trials. The players demonstrated impressive quality, intensity, and a strong willingness to embrace new tactical and technical adjustments to their game.

From this group, we have finalized the 16-player provisional team, who are currently undergoing intense preparations for the upcoming competition. I am pleased with the final selection and am confident in the abilities of the 16 players who made the provisional team.

He added that the team continues to work hard, focusing on maximizing the playersโ€™ potential.

“We are committed to ensuring that the team is fully prepared and equipped to compete at the highest level, especially as we face Morocco and Cameroon in the competition.The aim is to be ready, well-prepared, and to put on a strong performance.”
