1 December 2025 – The Namibian U15 Boys and Girls teams that will represent the country at the CAF African Schools Football Championship (COSAFA Edition) will drive out today.The tournament will be staged in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 5-7 December 2025. Namibia will be returning to the regional competitions for the third time this year.
During October , the NFA in collaboration with the Namibia Schools Sports Union (NSSU) hosted the National Under 15 Schools Football Championship for both boys and girls and this is where the provisional sqaud for both teams were selected.
Alexander Itumba will head the boys team while Rauha Wahengo remains as head coach for the girls side.Both teams started preparation two weeks ago and the coaches are hopeful in their chances.
“Development of players especially at youth football should be a continuation, we are pleased to see players like Angel Dauses, Hannie Gomachas, Florence Mwalundange, Brianna Matthias and Julia Sitamba returning for the same competition this year.The experience will come in handy and they will give the new girls a boost of confidence performing at a much bigger stage than they are used to.
Last year in Walvisbay we didn’t have impeccable time to prepare but this year, the FA hosted trails and we had enough two weeks with the girls and the team is ready to compete” said Rauha Wahengo, head coach for the girls side.
