The Namibia Senior Women’s team is headed to Johannesburg for the Cosafa Women’s Championship, the annual regional showpiece will be hosted in South Africa, Gauteng from 4-15 October 2023.
The Brave Gladiators will play Botswana, Zimbabwe and Lesotho in the group stages. The Gladiators will open their COSAFA Campaign against the Mares of Botswana on the 7 October 2023 followed by an encounter with Zimbabwe on the 9 October and finally closing off their group stage matches when they play Lesotho on the 11 October 2023.
“It is definitely not an easy group; we are placed with Botswana and Lesotho who have been doing well at this tournament and then there is the return of Zimbabwe, but I can only comment on my team, and they have been preparing well for the past weeks. The WAFCON Qualifiers against Gambia also helped us shape a few things in place the squad will have to do without Zenatha Coleman and Vewe Kotjipati who returned to their respective clubs but I believe all the other players are equally capable and will deliver results” Head Coach, Paulus Shipanga.
