Karas, Otjozondjupa, Kunene, Omusati, Oshana, Kavango East, Zambezi and Kavango West regions are through to the quarter finals of the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup currently underway in Outjo, Kunene region. The Nedbank Newspaper Cup started on Friday, 18 April and will conclude 21 April 2025.

Group A

The Karas Region started with their 2025 Nedbank Newspaper campaign when they defeated Oshikoto region 1-0 in the opening match of the tournament, in their second match, they showed dominance over the Zambezi beating them 4-1.

During the second day of the tournament, the southerners continued with their unbeaten run when they took on Hardap region in their final group stage match and won 2-0.

Zambezi region narrowly defeated Hardap 1-0 in their opener and managed a 3 all draw against Oshikoto securing four points and cruising past Hardap to make it as best runner ups in Group A.

Group B

Kunene is the second region to remain unbeaten in this year’s edition of the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup, the host region played to a 1-1 draw with Ohangwena region before defeating Khomas region 2-0 on Friday,18 April.The second day of the tournament saw the crowd favorites play to their home advantage defeating Omaheke and Otjozondjupa 1-0.

The Oshana region was on a winning streak when they took on Khomas and Ohangwena claiming a 3-2 and 4-0 victory respectively. They suffered their first defeat from Kunene losing 1-0.

Group C

The defending champions, Omusati held the Kavango East region to a 1-all draw in their first match of the tournament and edged past Erongo winning 1-0.

Kavango East defeated Erongo 2-0 to make it to the quarterfinals.

Group D

Kavango West and Omaheke played to a stalemate and defeated Otjozondjupa 1-0 securing the top place in Group D.

The Otjozondjupa region defeated Omaheke 1-0 and suffered a 1-0 defeat by Kavango West.
