8 December 2025 – The First National Bank (FNB) Namibia has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the development of women’s football with a renewed sponsorship of N$9,383,772.00 over the next three years for the FNB Women’s Super League (WSL).The announcement was made earlier today at the bank’s headquarters in Windhoek, marking what officials described as a significant step toward strengthening the women’s game in Namibia.

Speaking at the agreement signing, newly appointed Retail CEO: Mbo Luvindao highlighted the significance of the sponsorship.

“FNB’s relationship with the Women’s Super League is rooted in belief; believe that sports can transform lives,can unite communities and create opportunities where they were non-existent. Over the years, the FNB has stood alongside women athletes through every challenge and every triumph. We have seen their grind,their growth and greatness and today we are choosing to implify that greatness through the renewal of the WSL sponsorship” said Luvindao

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) hailed the renewed partnership as a momentous occasion for the sport. 

“We are thrilled to be gathered here today to officially launch the FNB Women’s Super League (WSL)! This moment marks a significant milestone in the journey of women’s football in Namibia,” said NFA Interim General Secretary, Cassius Moetie during the launch.

The NFA expressed deep appreciation for FNB’s unwavering support.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to FNB for their commitment to sponsoring the top-tier Women’s Super League for the next three football seasons. Your investment of N$3-million is a testament to your dedication to growing women’s football in Namibia.

Moetie  emphasized that transparency remains central to the partnership further stressed the importance of accountability from participating clubs:

“These reports are critical and important for transparency, accountability, governance, compliance and ethical usage of sponsors’ money. The reason why this is important for us at NFA is simply to instill public and sponsors’ confidence and trust in our financial management.”
