The Namibia Senior Women’s’ team is mobilizing for four crucial continental encounters against Gambia and Morocco and additionally for the 2023 Hollywoodbets Women’s COSAFA Cup.
Gladiators’ Fitness and Conditioning Coach, Alfie Ndyenge, speaks on the team’s overall fitness and readiness.
“The fitness level of the team has significantly improved, the first weeks we focused solely on physical fitness and now we are transitioning to football Conditioning Drills. The drills help to develop fitness and endurance through short, intense games of 3v3. Players must work to stay with and defend their assigned opponent while also using wick cuts and change of speed to create space on offense. This will improve their conditioning while getting game-like play” he said.
He adds that all the players are in high spirits and the camp is in a good mood, no serious injuries have been reported, just a few knocks here and there but they are manageable, and players are attending training and able to train and this the atmosphere we want to see towards the final week before match days.
