The  Brave Warriors World Cup Campaign Committee chairperson Tim Ekandjo announced plans for a fundraising event to support the national team ahead of their final two home matches in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Namibia is set to play Malawi and Sao Tome Principle at the Obed Ithani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana. The Warriors will take on Malawi on 5 September before playing Sao Tome Principle on the 9th September.

Debmarine Namibia Premiership champions, African Stars will take on northern giants, Eeshoke Chula Chula at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday, 31 August in a special fundraising tournament. The two rivals will play for a grounded trophy.

Speaking at the Presser, Ekandjo called on African Stars, Chula Chula, and the entire Namibian nation to rally behind the Brave Warriors during this crucial final stretch of their World Cup campaign. The total cost of hosting the event is estimated at N$800,000.

He further urged corporate Namibia to contribute to the cause, offering full branding and advertising opportunities in exchange of a N$400,000 sponsorship.

In collaboration with the City of Windhoek, transport will be provided to and from the stadium to encourage maximum attendance. General admission tickets will be sold for N$50, while VIP tickets will cost N$500.
