In line with CAF’s strategic direction and commitment to promoting women in football, CAF Women’s Football Department in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Football Association (SAFF), is organizing a High-Level Women Coaching Workshop from May 14th to May 18th, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Former Brave Gladiators skipper, Uerikondjera “Mammie” Kasaona was invited by CAF to attend the four-day course.

“It’s a privilege to be part of this course. It’s all about learning the new trends of football that coaches must update themselves with; the laws of the game change occasionally and we must keep up, learning about administration challenges that my counterpart coaches face as well.

One of the key factors issues in football is leadership, leadership as a coach, how to work together with your technical team acknowledging each other strengths for the betterment of the teams result is very crucial and I’m happy that the course is tackling this.

I want to thank the CAF Women Football Department for the initiative.

We are starting to see the strides that CAF is making in gender inclusivity, and it goes a long way. It shows that we are not limited, that girls who want to make a career in football have a great of chance of succeeding.

She further went on to thank the NFA President, Robert Shimooshili and the Technical Director, Jaqueline Shipanga for granting her this opportunity.

“This opportunity means a lot for my coaching career, for the young girls back home in the different leagues and academies. I’m excited and looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with my fellow coaches back home.”

The workshop aims to increase gender diversity in coaching by supporting female coaches to excel and remain involved in football coaching. It equips them with advanced coaching knowledge and skills to enhance their career opportunities. This initiative underscores CAF’s and SAFF’s dedication to fair opportunities and inclusivity.
