8 November 2025 – The Namibia Football Association (NFA) launched the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) on Friday, 7 November at the Football House in Katutura.

Speaking at the launch,TDS program officer,Nicholas Jacobs said that TDS targets children from the age of 10-15 to help sharpen their skills at a younger age.

“The development of a player starts at grassroots level and TDS will help produce quality players through a structured player development pathway,we aim to help create players with the physical and technical attributes needed for both the national team and leagues.

Apart from developing players, the programme will be used to build a network of coaches that will be very instrumental in identifying and nurturing the talent” he said

Led by Arsène Wenger, FIFA launched this innovative in 2022 offering bespoke assistance to member associations (MAs) to help them achieve their full potential and continuing the measures taken to reduce the disparity in the level of football between different regions of the world. 

TDS is part of FIFA’s collaborative work with MAs to increase global competitiveness. World football’s governing body is increasing its investment through a holistic approach to technical and education projects; also represented by new performance analysis and insights on the field as well as the FIFA training centrelaunched in 2021 as a modern and dynamic platform to share knowledge with technicians of the game.
