The Namibian U20 Men’s National Team head coach James Britz, named his traveling squad for the upcoming 2024 COSAFA U20 Championship which will serve as qualifiers for the TotalEnergies U20 AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS 2025.
”We had a brief training camp last month , just monitored and evaluated the players that were scouted at the 2024 Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup, the idea was to get in camp sooner but that was not possible because most of the players are in school and university and we can’t get keep them out for a longer period of time. This week we trimmed down the squad, making it easier for the technical team to work with a smaller group”
The boys look good and in shape, most of them are training at their clubs, this week we are just working on the style of play and getting the smaller details in order” Britz said.
The Namibian side were drawn in a tough Group B against Zambia, Angola and Madagascar however Madagascar withdrew from the competition. Namibia will open their COSAFA tourney against Angola on the 29 September before concluding against Zambia on the 1 September 2024.
