The Namibia Football Association’s Technical Department is determined to educate as many female coaches in the country as possible, the NFA is currently hosting a NFA C-License Coaching Course for the FNB Women Super League (WSL) Coaches.
Earlier this year, the NFA Interim Secretary General, Jochen Traut stated that, the objective of the NFA C-License Coaching Course is to fast-track the player/coaches’ development pathway, to create an opportunity for skills development towards the CAF C-License and ensuring that NFA contributes towards the CAF Coaching Convention.
The ten-day NFA C- License course kicked off this past Tuesday, 12 September with 55 participants from the different women clubs in the country, this will be the first time the course runs eight ten- days with the recent change from CAF from the original five days of the course.
“This course forms part of several coaching courses that the Association has been rolling out across the country as part of the Association’s Strategic Plan. Women’s football has grown tremendously with our women national teams competing in international competitions. Such courses can only contribute to continually improving the women’s game and the Namibian Girl Child at large,” said NWFA Chairlady, Monica Shapua.
She further encouraged the participants to make use of the information shared and learned during the course. “In the next three years, we strictly want to see women on the technical benches at the FNB WSL league games.”
