The celebratory reception took place earlier today at Hosea Kutako International Airport, where supporters, officials, and well-wishers gathered to honor the national women’s team for their outstanding achievement.

The Brave Gladiators ended a 20-year wait in spectacular fashion by clinching the 2026 Cosafa Women’s Championship title, defeating hosts South Africa 2-1 in a thrilling final on Saturday afternoon. Played at the iconic Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, the closely contested match saw Namibia rise to the occasion, delivering a composed and determined performance to secure the trophy.
The Gladiators’ victory marks a proud and defining moment for Namibian football, inspiring young athletes across the country and showcasing the growing strength of women’s sport on the regional stage.
