The Tafel Lager Brave Warriors approach every game as it comes and takes the positives from their Senegal victory in preparation for rivals Zimbabwe on Sunday at the 2021 Cosafa Cup in Gqerbeha.
Midfielders Marcel Papama and Wesley Katjiteo linked up for the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Senegal on Wednesday and the pair are focused to take on Zimbabwe.
” Against Senegal we totally pushed ourselves and we got the win and that is enough for us to take into the next game. Zimbabwe we won’t be easy at all, but we have the confidence and take the goods from the first game, improve and plan accordingly against Zimbabwe” says Papama, who scored the opening goal against Senegal.
That goal’s creator, midfield maestro Katjiteo is aware that the matches will be coming thick and fast from 11 to 14 July but he won’t complain.
” I’ve been in this industry for years abd so are my fellow players, we need to take one game at a time and see how far we can go. We have to give it all and try to reach the end and be successful too. One swallow doesn’t make a summer and we are focused to reach greater heights”, Katjiteo states.
Namibia are in Group B and will take on Zimbabwe on 11 July and then will have back to back games aginst Malawi and then Mozambique on 13 and 14 July to complete group action.
Only the top two sides from the group will advance to the semifinals of the 2021 Cosafa Cup.
