The Namibia Football Association wishes to put the record straight and announce that the NFA unconditionally withdrew ALL previous conflicting and confusing messages about the official start of the Football Bounce Back Programme in Namibia as erroneously published on the NFA website.
The inaccurate communication was an error, and it is inconsistent with the resolutions of the recently held Executive Committee Meeting on 26th and 27th March 2021 at Heja Lodge, on the outskirts of Windhoek.
As the Head of the Administration and Operations of the Namibia Football Association, flanked and supported by two substantive Executive Members, who also participated in the recent Exco Meeting, we would like to assure the Nation that football will start on the 17th April 2021.
In this regard, we, at the Namibia Football Association, would like to deposit an unreserved apology to all football stakeholders of the NFA, COSAFA, CAF and FIFA, who might have read this inaccurate communication from the NFA website.
Allow me to communicate a synopsis of the resolutions of the recent NFA Executive Committee Meeting pertaining to football and the League programme in Namibia:
The NFA Bounce back programme is from the 17th April 2021 to 31st July 2021.
During this period, the Namibia Premier Football League [NPFL], Nationwide First Division consisting of the North-East First Division, North-West First Division and the Southern Stream First Division as well as the fourteen Regional Second Division Leagues including Women Football League will play a transition league in preparation for League Proper slated to commence in August 2021 and ending June 2022.
This will align the NFA Football Season 2021/2022 with the rest of the World Football Calendar of FIFA.
The Nationwide First Division and Regional Second Division Leagues will create fireworks for the Preliminary Rounds of the popular MTC-NFA Cup slated for two consecutive weekends of the 17th and 18th April 2021 and the 24th and 25th April 2021.
The Round of 32 of MTC NFA Cup is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 15th and 16th May 2021.
