All set for NFA Women Super Cup Final

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) Women Super League Cup final will be contested on Saturday afternoon with the stakes so high that the winner will walk away with a massive N$40 000, while the runner-up will pocket N$ 25 000 with the competition’s total prizes worth N$ 95 000.

This was revealed on Wednesday morning at Football House by the Football Body as preparations for the final gains momentum.

The competition played over a period of five weeks since late last year, had fourteen (14) teams contesting but on Saturday, only Tuta Magic and Galz & Goals will fight in the final while defending champions Khomas Nampol and V-Power Angels will battle for 3rd and 4th place at 10h00.

The champions get a massive N$40 000-00 cash prize, while the second runners up get N$25 000-00 and N$15 000-00 for the third-place runners up, N$10 000 for 4th place, N$6 000 for 5th place, and N$4 000-00 for 6th place.

Individual prizes will have the Best Coach, Player of the Tournament and Fair play winner each gets N$ 3 000-00, while Best Team Manager, Print Journalist, Broadcaster, and Top Goal Scorer get N$ 2 000-00 each. Best Match Official and Assistant Match of the Tournament, Best Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, and Youngster walk away with N$ 1 000-00 each.

Tura Magic Skipper Anna Shikusho is leading the top goal scorer table with fifteen goals, while Beverly Ueziua of Galz& Goals is second eight goals.

Tura Magic are favorites, having lost out to Nampol in 2017 when the Cup was last held and this time saw off V-Power Angels 11-0 over two semi-final legs.

“We are very excited about Saturday’s match. Both teams are relatively strong so it will not be an easy match but I believe in my team and that we can win this cup,” says Tura Magic captain Lovisa Mulunga.

Lydia Eixas of Galz says they are underdogs but they are not going to roll over as they saw off holders Nampol 1-0 to reach the final.

“Tura Magic is our big sisters, we respect them but we do not fear them, and come Saturday there will be fireworks. We need to win this too and we will not give up at all until the end” she states.

The third and fourth place playoff will kick start the day at 10h00, followed by the curtain-raiser which is Media vs the NFA Team before the main match at 15h00 to draw the curtain on what has been an exciting Women Super Cup edition.
