The Brave Warriors will charter a flight to South Africa on Tuesday for the two countries’ international friendly match on Thursday in Rustenburg.
The South African Football Association on Wednesday night confirmed that the international friendly will take place following authorization from relevant stakeholders amid Covid-19 pandemic.
Acting Secretary General of the NFA Franco Cosmos confirm the encounter and reveals that the Cosafa Cup is off.
“We got confirmation for the friendly last night. South Africa was closed and opens today for international travels and it was always dependent on necessary approvals”, says Cosmos.
On the 2020 Cosafa Cup, Cosmos states. ” It was supposed to take place early October but due to unforeseen circumstances, it is cancelled. So we go to South for that friendly and then back home to prepare for the AFCON qualifiers in November 2020″.
Brave Warriors coach Bobby Samaria had 34 players in camp and will however have to reduce that to travelling team.
” I will announce my final team on Monday before the travel to South Africa on Tuesday. The boys are making it tough for me. They are pushing and hungry to play so I have to be patient and fair to them as well”, says Samaria.
