The Brave Warriors can make sure of their participation at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Cameroon if they avoid defeat to Zambia in March 2019 while Mozambique against Guinea Bissau can also affect Group K.

Following the weekend result in the group, Namibia and Guinea Bissau playing to a goalless draw and Mozambique beating Zambia 1-0, the Brave Warriors still have their destiny in their own hands and there are various permutations on how they can reach the finals to be played in Cameroon between 15 June to 13 July 2019.

Namibia can qualify for the 2019 AFCON finals if:
• they avoid defeat to Zambia in March 2019
• they lose to Zambia and Mozambique lose to Guinea Bissau
• they lose to Zambia and Mozambique draw against Bissau ( Namibia have better head to head against Mozambique)

Guinea Bissau and Namibia are top of Group K on eight points each with Mozambique in third place on seven points. Zambia are on four points are out of the race to Cameroon.

“ It is not good idea to depend on what happens in Bissau. Our destiny is in our hands, we need to treat it as such, and we should go to Zambia with aim of not losing. We are in the driving seat and we have to do it ourselves”, states Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti.

The group winner and the runner-up will qualify for the 32nd edition of the Total African Cup of Nations to be played in Cameroon from 15 June to 13 July 2019.

So far the following teams have qualified, host Cameroon, Nigeria, Madagascar, Uganda, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Mauritania and Ivory Coast.
