Omusati and Erongo to contest Skorpion Zinc Cup final

Omusati Region and Erongo Region will meet in the final match of the 2017 Skorpion Zinc under-17 Cup at the Sam Nujoma stadium on Sunday, 13h00 after they defeated Kavango West and Kavango East respectively in the semifinals on Sunday morning.

Omusati Region, the double defending champions of the Cup, were made to sweat for their 1-0 victory over Kavango West in the first semifinal match but eventually got their goal through Man of the Match Elia Willem to reach the final.

The free scoring Erongo Region faced Kavango East in the second semifinal match and had a 2-0 half time lead thanks to a goals by Leighton McCalty and Man of the Match Prince Tjiueza.

In the second half, Kavango East continued to search for a goal but it was the enterprising Steven Damaseb that put the game to bed with a fine finish to make it 3-0 and it was later 4-0 courtesy of captain fantastic Nicky Daniel.

Kavango East and Kavango West will now meet at 12h00 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium to decide the third place team while Omusati and Erongo will contest the final at 13h15 at the same venue.

From 15 games played the teams have scored 88 goals. Entrance to the Skorpion Zinc under 17 Cup is free.
