The Debmarine Namibia Cup Organizing Committee has amended the kick off times for the quarterfinal matches slated for Gobabis on Saturday at the Legare Stadium.

Namibia Football Association (NFA) Secretary General Barry Rukoro states that the reason for the hour delay in the programme for Gobabis on Saturday is to allow football lovers to escort Robbie Savage to his final resting place in the morning as well as the array of sport events taking place at Gobabis on the day.

“Initially when the programme was done we did not know what will happen on Saturday. Robbie deserves to be laid to rest by all those needs to attend and maybe drive to Gobabis and also there a lot of choices in terms of events at the town on the day and this hour delay is to allow people to have enough time to prepare for the Debmarine cup games”.

The games for Legare Stadium on Saturday, 29 July for 2017 Debmarine Namibia Cup has been moved back with on hour and will now start at 12h00 with Mighty Gunners taking on Try Again and then Tura Magic and Civics takes to the field in the second game at 14h00.

Local –based side Premier League newcomers Young African will then take on Rundu Chiefs at 16h00 in the feast of football at the Legare Stadium and the final game of the day at 18h00 will see another Gobabis-based side Eastern Chiefs locking horns with Oshakati-based Premier league side Young Chiefs.

Each club for the quarterfinals received a playing and will in addition get N$ 20 000 for travel and preparations, and the same treat will apply for the semifinals as well. The fees will also be increased to N$ 30 0000 for the two finalists.

Each Man of the Match will receive N$ 1500 in the quarterfinals; N$ 2000 in the semifinals and N$ 5000 in the final match and he will have to select a charity of his choice that will receive an equivalent amount.

Tickets for Saturday are available on Computicket for N$ 20 each and at the gate on match-day.
