Debmarine Namibia Cup fixtures amended
The Namibia Footfall Association (NFA) has released amended fixtures for this weekend for the Debmarine Namibia Cup as Bee Bob Brothers, Eastern Chiefs and Try Again automatically qualifies for the lucrative competition’s Last 16.
Following weeks of speculations with regard to the Debmarine Namibia Cup last 32 Round fixtures, NFA Secretary General Barry Rukoro reveals that the Cup organizers has resolved to amend the fixtures for the upcoming weekend, 22-23 April based on lack of confirmation from the Namibia Premier league clubs that have been dragging their feet about their participation in the flagship competition.
“The reason the clubs that will not form part of the programme for this weekend gave are the inactivity of the league and that there is no sponsorship deal signed for the league” Rukoro explains.
Try Again were to face Chief Santos, Beeb Bob Brothers vs. Black Africa and Eastern Chiefs to take on defending champions Tigers.
Is means only two matches will now take place in Windhoek and on Saturday at the Sam Nujoma , Rhino FC will face Young beauties at 14h00 and two hours later UNAM FC and Eleven Champions will do battle for place in the Debmarine Namibia Cup Last 16.
The Oscar Norich Stadium at Tsumeb will see Young Chiefs taking on Kantema Bullets at 13h00; Ogongo United against Eleven Arrows at 15h00 and Khuse FC versus Touch & Go set for 17h00.
On Sunday, 23 April, King Fischer and Tura Magic will square off at 12h00 followed by Civics against Ohangwena NAMPOL at 14h00.
Each of the clubs in this round will receive N$ 18 000 for preparations while the winners are guaranteed another N$ 18 000 as the progress to the latter stages of the rewarding Debmarine Namibia Cup as the race for the 25 November 2017 final gets exciting.
The NFA Secretariat will release the Debmarine Namibia Cup fixtures for 29-30 April in due course, Rukoro says.
