Debmarine Namibia Cup promises fireworks

The draw of the Debmarine Namibia Cup on Thursday produced some mouth-waring clashes in the waiting as African Stars got Life Fighters, Black Africa takes on Bee Bob Brothers and Blue Waters will face Rundu Chiefs.

The draw that took place at Windhoek’s country club hotel promised the David versus Goliath clashes and surely delivered on that promises at the Cup of Dreams pitted the country’s powerhouses against the ambitious and fearless lower division sides.

With the last 32 round to be contested from 21 to 30 April, dates and venues to be confirmed, making a return to top flight football, Otjiwarongo’ s Life Fighters will take traditional rivals African Stars, while Black Africa will on take on Hardap regional kings Bee Bob Brothers of Mariental.

Another interesting tie in the Debmarine Namibia Cup will be Premier league outfit UNAM FC against Khomas regional champions Eleven Champions, and Southern Stream First Division winners Try Again will face another Premiership returnee’s in Chief Santos.

Reigning champions of the NFA Flagship competition, formerly knowns as Bidvest Namibia Cup, Tigers FC will start their defending campaign against Eastern Chiefs, Omaheke regional qualifiers.

Blue Waters and Rundu Chiefs will be another interesting fixture in the Debmarine Namibia Cup last -32 Round. All 32 clubs are due to receive 18 00 for their preparations, same amount for subsequent qualifiers up to the final match at which N$ 550 000 is the grand prize when the final is contested on 25 November 2017.
